From a young age Dr. Bernard became interested in sports and manual therapy, rehabilitating through numerous ankle and knee injuries sustained while playing lacrosse. This experience led him to pursue his Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology, with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. He then went on to complete his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic West Campus in San Jose, CA.
Specializing in soft tissue therapies and individualized corrective exercises, Dr. Bernard uses a wide variety of techniques such as Instrument Assisted Soft tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and functional movement-based screenings to identify biomechanical dysfunctions, and to maximize optimal function and performance. Striving to create the most educational and evidence-based approach to his care, Dr. Bernard is constantly furthering his skills with post-graduate certifications. He is currently a certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), a Functional Movement Technique (FMT) Rocktape Medical Professional, and Full-Body Certified Active Release Technique© (A.R.T.) provider.
